It’s hard to quantify the beauty of skies spun like cotton candy or measure how captivating it is to watch a glowing globe drop below a neon orange horizon, but travel company Titan Travel took a crack at it by analyzing social media posts on Instagram and TikTok for its review of the sunset spots that get posted and viewed the most.

Bali, Indonesia is the No. 1 spot for beautiful sunsets, according to the travel company. The destination has racked more than 182,000 Instagram posts and 19.2 million TikTok views, according to Titan Travel.

“Brimming with ancient temples and natural beauty, Bali offers stunning beaches, lush greenery and scenic lakes and waterfalls. There are plenty of locations on the island that are perfect for visitors to watch the sun go down,” according to Titan Travel.

Santorini, Greece took the No. 2 spot. The caldera is famous for its sunsets, with tourists lining up nightly to see the spectacle amid the dramatic cliffs. Oia, in particular, is a wildly popular sunset spot, with the famous blue-domed buildings atop the Caldera showing off great sunset views. At Santo Mine, a luxury property in Oia that boasts uninterrupted views of the Aegean Sea, guests can book a treatment at Pnoé Spa, where treatments incorporate the local landscape (think: a massage with volcanic rhyolite particles from Stromboli) and then enjoy an outdoor workout or yoga session with sea-facing, sunset views.

Three destinations in the United States made it onto Titan Travel’s ranking of top 10 most beautiful places to watch a sunset.

Maui, Hawaii ranked No. 3, with plenty of beaches and restaurants that provide front-row views of the famed sunsets. Stay at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea and book a Missoni-designed cabana and watch the sunset from an adult’s-only, infinity-edge pool. Or, visitors can set out on a Twilight Sail With The Whales excursion to catch a sunset and whale watch.

From piers to cliffs, sunset perches are easy to find in San Diego, which ranked No. 6 in the world for best sunsets. One special place to watch a sunset is on Coronado Beach at Hotel Del Coronado.
