Since Canadian armored vehicle specialist Inkas shifted its business model to include private clients, the company has handled BMW and Lexus SUVs, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, and even a Bentley Bentayga. Inkas’ Sentry Civilian may be its most imposing-looking offering to date, but the firm is also getting a name for itself for producing plush executive-level rides that can take a lot of punishment.
In that latter camp falls the company’s newest project: the armored Cadillac Escalade Chairman VIP Edition. Now, the Escalade looks pretty darn formidable without the body armor, so the aesthetic foundation, as it were, arrived at the Inkas facility intact.
What Inkas brought to the table is BR6 protection: glass, body panels, run-flat tires, enough of a ballistics buffer to take 7.62mm rounds and a couple of close-proximity hand grenade blasts. Interestingly, Inkas is touting its proprietary new armoring feature: overlap protection, keeping door seals protected. Additional security features: a siren and PA, fire suppression system, and heavy-duty brakes and wheels.
Inkas also dressed up the interiors, though. Massaging and temperature-adjusting chairs are featured, and there’s a clandestine TV installed. The cabin layout has been optimized for a small group, and even features a natural lighting system. Perhaps most luxurious of all is the additional five inches of headroom, as Inkas raised the roof on the Chairman Escalade as well.
