Renaissance Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, has announced its fifth New York City property with the opening of the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel.
The new hotel is the brand’s first in the celebrated Manhattan neighborhood and the tallest building north of Central Park. The hotel features 211 guest rooms and suites and more than 9,000 square feet of event space. The hotel’s restaurant – The Victoria, operated by Silk Hospitality Group – offers the diverse cuisines of the African diaspora and will offer nightly jazz performances under the “Evenings at Renaissance” banner.
The hotel is located on 125th Street within steps of the historic Apollo Theater. It is based on the site of the Victoria Building, previously home to the renowned Victoria Theater.
’’We are thrilled to announce the opening of Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel, a project that not only aims to revitalize the neighborhood but also honor the cultural legacy of the Harlem Renaissance,” said Lewiston Murray, general manager of the Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel. “Our vision is to create an inviting space for the community and guests alike to experience Harlem in its fullness through unexpected dining, celebratory beverage rituals, jazz performances, original artwork, and more.”
The Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel is owned by Lam Generation, which is also the developer for Renaissance New York Chelsea Hotel, and managed by Real Hospitality Group.
