The former Greenwich, Connecticut, estate of Donald and Ivana Trump has reappeared for sale this summer. The property is currently priced at $29.9 million. It has been listed for as much as $54 million during its long run on and off the market.
The estate occupies 5.8 acres at the tip of a peninsula that juts out into Long Island Sound between Indian Harbor and Smith Cove. It is situated within a gated enclave and is a stone’s throw from the Gold Coast Yacht Club, which is located the next peninsula over. Naturally, then, the amenities on the property include a deep water dock.
The main house on the compound is a 1939-built Georgian. The house sits on a grassy plateau with a retaining wall — what garden designers call a ‘ha-ha’ — eventually giving way to a sweeping expanse of tightly groomed lawn.
The home’s façade is dominated by a massive neoclassical pediment and a column-supported semicircular ornamental balcony over the front entry; a ram’s head pediment in relief echoes the more extravagant one that extends from the hipped roofline above. In the back, a broad patio descends to a pool area, which itself gives way to the back lawn; from this vantage, the views of Long Island Sound are knee-bucklingly beautiful.
Inside, renovations conducted since the ownership tenure of the duo have toned down the more extravagant elements; Ivana reportedly went heavy on the gold leaf. Highlights of the home include the solarium living space that overlooks the water and a space with a cathedral ceiling that appears to have been purposed as an office. Many of the bedrooms — there are 11 across the property — have fireplaces.
Additional amenities on the estate include a tennis court, an indoor lap pool, and waterfront terraces. The property’s frontage measures around 1,600 feet.
President Donald Trump’s net worth is around $3 billion, according to Forbes. And while he parted with the Greenwich property long ago, his real estate company is currently seeking a buyer for a beach house in Palm Beach for $59 million.
