The listing price on a Beverly Hills mansion with a history of A-list Hollywood residents has reduced to $19.9 million from the $22.9 million from its initial offer posted in June.
Architectural Digest reported the 15,500-square-foot estate was built in 1941 and designed by Paul R. Williams, the barrier-breaking Black architect whose celebrity client list included Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, and Lucille Ball. The mansion was originally the home for Bert Lahr, the beloved Cowardly Lion from “The Wizard of Oz,” and over the years it served as the home for entertainment industry couples Betty Grable and Harry James, Paul and Linda McCartney, Don Johnson, and Melanie Griffith, and Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.
The current owner is fashion industry executive Guy Attal, who bought the property in 1999 for $2.55 million. Over the years, he rented the property to prominent celebrities and tried on several occasions to list it for sale.
The residence has nine bedrooms and 15 bathrooms, along with a two-lane bowling alley. The 1.38-acre property includes a pool, tennis courts, a koi pond, and a putting green.
