It is always news when a residence designed by the iconic architect Frank Lloyd Wright comes on the market. And it is certainly out of the ordinary when three different Wright-designed homes are listed at once.
A pair of Usonian-style houses in Galesburg, Michigan, are being listed for sale together at $4.5 million. The homes were part of a Wright-conceived community called The Acres that was supposed to encompass 21 residences, but only five were completed.
The properties for sale are the Samuel and Dorothy Eppstein House and the Eric and Pat Pratt House, named for their respective original owners. The Eppstein house has three bedrooms and the Pratt house has two – both retain Wright’s original floor plans but have been restored to accommodate current electrical and plumbing requirements.
Separately, a Milwaukee residence designed by Wright in 1917 is on the market for the first time since 1955 and only the second time since its construction. The five-bedroom, 6,712-square-foot Prairie-style home, known as the F.C. Bogk House after its original owner, is in the city’s historic North Point district and is being listed at $1.5 million.
