The residence of singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is one of the more notable additions to the Los Angeles market this winter. The Bel-Air estate hit the market with a resounding, $42.5 million wallop.
The property is anchored by a 1940-vintage French countryside-inspired dwelling that’s rich in stone and glass. But there is a guest house on the property that brings the total interior area to 12,817 sq. ft. with nine bedrooms thirteen baths throughout. All bedrooms in the main house include private terraces in their layouts.
The estate’s interior design consolations are plentiful, and there are many surprises along the way. Some of the more interesting elements: the kitchen’s atrium-like skylight, the double barn doors that enhance the media room, the wood-clad library, and the master bedroom, which opens freely to the sound of moving water through four sets of French doors. Throughout the home a masterful restraint is sustained, and the living style finds definition through suggestion rather than ostentation. Fireplaces, stone and hardwood are constants.
Interior specialty spaces include a game room with wet bar, a lounge and screening room, and a massage room. Exterior diversions include an elevated swimming pool, a firepit pagoda, a 100-seat amphitheater, organic garden, and a pavilion with a kitchen. A private lake is situated at a judicious remove on the 7.86 acres of grounds.
According to public records, Lopez has owned the estate since 2016. She purchased the property for $28 million.
Lopez has sold over 80 million records. Her ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now, is expected to be released this year. On the acting side, her upcoming films include sci-fi thriller Atlas and action drama The Mother.
